The ACAO established a pandemic influenza business contingency plan in 2007. On March 16, 2020, the ACAO implemented the first stages of this plan and moved to a remote work model with continuation of full services for the public and registered members.

The ACAO continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation and to collaborate with provincial and national regulatory health colleges on initiatives related to the pandemic and its impacts.
