Slave Lake Eye Care is hiring! They are looking for someone creative and willing to learn, with a bubbly, outgoing personality who loves to work with people! As part of the team you will work and collaborate alongside qualified and extensively experienced professionals in the field of optometry. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages teams across multiple departments within the clinic
  • Responsible for ongoing training and development and regular performance evaluation of clinic operations staff; including their roles and responsibilities, success measures, personal goals and the company’s values/strategy
  • Ensures that clinic is staffed appropriately, while adhering to clinic budget
  • Managing day to day administration and operations to ensure clinic is fully operational, including potential IT troubleshooting
  • Recruiting, hiring, orientation, and training of clinical and administrative staff
  • Acts as the primary interface with clinic staff and medical providers for all operational and administrative issues
  • Addresses patient and provider concerns and issues
  • Manages doctor schedules to ensure productivity and efficiency.
  • Responsible for project management and other duties
  • Responsible for coverage of administrative roles, as required
  • Assists in the integration processes of new systems and processes

Preferred Skills/Experience…

  • Post-secondary education in a Certified Medical Office Administration
  • Program or 2-4 years of Medical Office Experience and/or Medical Office Assistant Diploma, or Bachelors Degree in a health field is an asset
  • 2-3+ years in clinic operations healthcare environment; leading and coaching a team with at least 5 direct reports (multi-site practice is an asset)
  • Experience in the usage of EMR’s, medical billings, and Public Health standards
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and advanced communication skills
  • Process and workflow management skills to ensure reliability and consistency that delivers expected results
  • Proficient in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making
  • Ability to manage and sustain process improvement initiatives
  • Proficiency with Microsoft computer systems, EMR and software applications (knowledge of Optosys considered an asset)
  • Required to have a valid driver’s license with access to a reliable personal vehicle
