You can get E&O insurance through the OAC…
Each optician must have one million dollars of Errors and Omissions Insurance in order to register for the year. Some employers may offer to pay for your insurance, but if they won’t cover it, don’t panic! As members of the ACAO, you can get a reduced rate for E&O insurance through the Opticians Association of Canada.
The ACAO pays for our members to be members of the OAC, too…
In addition to the reduced price for E&O Insurance, the OAC offers many other benefits for members, including:
- access to the Canadian Safety Eyewear Program
- reduced subscription rate for Contact Lens Spectrum magazine
- special privileges at the International Vision Expo
- discounts on Con-Ed modules
The ACAO pays for your membership in the OAC, so take advantage of what they have to offer! To learn more about what they have to offer, visit the OAC’s Benefits of Membership page.
You get a special rate on home, auto, and travel insurance through TD…

As a matter of fact, their program gives opticians discounted rates on home, auto, and travel insurance.
